Telecommunications company Telia partners with Cleveron to open an outdoor self-service store

21.12.2021 | Cleveron, Telia, Self-service kiosk
Telia, a telecommunications company in the Nordics and Baltics, opened its first outdoor self-service store in Rapla, Estonia. At this outdoor self-service store, it is possible to contact Telia’s call centre consultant and receive goods.

This unique solution on a global scale was developed in cooperation between Telia and Cleveron. At the heart of this solution is Cleveron’s innovative parcel robot with a large customer service screen. The customer who enters the self-service store can contact Telia’s call centre consultant using the large touch screen. The customer can pay for the goods at the site as the screen also has a payment terminal and the parcel robot will then issue the appliances. The pre-filled parcel robot provides the opportunity to pick up digital TV tuners, routers, SIM cards as well as telephones, for example.

According to Katre Liiberg, Head of Estonian Sales and Customer Service at Telia, the goal of self-service offices is to have them in places where Telia does not have an office today, but where customers still want to replace their appliances, purchase new ones or conveniently receive ordered goods.

"We have long been looking for an opportunity to sustainably restore our presence in smaller towns across Estonia. From the community standpoint, the network of regional service points is of utmost importance, nevertheless, the solutions used up until this day have not been commercially sustainable. We are pleased to be able to deliver on this promise by opening a digital office in Rapla, thereby improving the regional availability of services and support, while increasing people's skills in using digital solutions. Self-service representations are our way of solving structural concerns in an innovative and sustainable way,” said Liiberg.

The cooperation between Cleveron and Telia started at the beginning of 2020. In May 2021 Telia opened its first self-service store in Tartu, Estonia at Lõunakeskus shopping centre. The pilot at Lõunakeskus has received a lot of feedback from customers on how the created solution could fulfil its goal even better.

“Cleveron’s team has been working with Telia on a daily basis to develop a digital office solution suitable for outdoor use, and I am very pleased that we are able to open the first external digital office in Rapla this year. Telia's smart self-service store is a very important cooperation project for Cleveron, which gives us the opportunity to enter a new business segment and which also creates many new opportunities for Cleveron globally,” added Arti Kütt, COO at Cleveron.
