COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on retail and consumer behaviour. eCommerce, which was considered as something which will grow in the future, has doubled or tripled in just two months. It is gaining new users and is also forcing retailers to adapt their processes in order to survive.
The new reality of commerce
Experts believe that this is now the new reality of commerce – online shopping studies indicate that over half of the consumers will not return to the same level of interaction with physical stores as it was before the crisis. This will affect not only giant fashion or general merchandise retailers but also for groceries, SME’s and logistics companies. Everyone needs a new strategy for how to maintain customer loyalty and offer great service from customer relationship to handing over the parcel.
Cleveron has been developing and producing last-mile delivery automation solutions since 2007. With retail clients all over the world, we have had an opportunity to follow how the biggest names in retail have adapted their processes in order to win this crisis. We have also kept an eye on the latest innovative developments in the whole industry and what others are doing.
On May 14th, Indrek Oolup, Cleveron’s Head of Business Development, will share our experiences on how retailers have reacted and acted in order to survive in this crisis and come out as winners.
We will discuss the global trends in general merchandise and grocery last-mile delivery:
- What steps should be considered to survive the crisis and prepare for the post-pandemic world?
- How to maintain fast and convenient delivery in times where fulfilment and delivery services are overburdened?
- How various services such as curbside and door-side pickup, in-store click and collect, robotics in parking lots and AI in customer journey help to avoid or reduce human contact?
